New bill passed to help individuals recently released from prison obtain IDs

Senate Bill 629 was recently signed by Governor Newson, affording individuals who have been recently released from prison an opportunity to obtain California IDs to facilitate their transition back to their communities, their families, and employment.  KPBS recently published an article outlining the bill and impact on the population, and interviewed a member of our team, Robert Forte.

New Opportunities

MCMI is proud to announce recent awards to provide assistance to those most in need in our communities!  Through these programs, we will be able to impact over 800 people in San Diego CA, Atlanta GA, and Richmond VA.

A New Path will provide services to individuals housed in local jails and prisons, assisting them in their transition from prison to community, and providing them with opportunities for employment, continued training, and attainment of certification to increase their competitiveness in the workforce.

Pathway, a Warm Hand-Off program, is focused in San Diego and will assist individuals who have been impacted by the justice system, and who have had involvement with CDCR (California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation), bring stabilization to their lives through direct services and connections with health and mental health, food supplements, continuing education, housing, substance abuse treatment and sobriety support, family connectedness, and supporting self sufficiency.
